Good morning,
Imagine you’re in the 4th quarter, on the goal line, your teams behind and you have two minutes left on the clock. If you’re from Dallas, it’s an all too familiar scene at a Dallas Cowboy’s game!
But I’m not talking about sports here; I’m talking about goals. Here we are in the 4th quarter of the year, yes, I’m wondering how we got here so soon as well. Where are you on your goals, your budget and your strategic plan for 2014? It’s time to review it to see where you will be year-end. Take a deep breath, pull it out of your desk, or pull it up on your computer and let’s measure your success against your plan. Where are you, how close will you come to your plan, and how many of you will actually meet it?
And for some, you have not looked at these for a while, but it’s not too late, and don’t beat yourself up for ignoring it because life got in the way. Take a look at what can be done over the next 10 weeks and regroup. Set your expectations, measure how you will balance what you want to achieve over the next 10 weeks, and then decide what you want to remove or push into 2015. Then move forward and get it done.
No one said this stuff was going to be easy, but hard work pays off.
It will soon be time to start thinking about what you want to achieve for 2015, and I will be giving you some tips and ideas for how to set up and achieve these for the upcoming year.
But 2014 is still with us, so don’t write it off! Get busy and let’s accomplish what we set out to do!
