Good morning,
If you work in the Dallas commercial real estate community, then you know we are a pretty special and unique group. To say we are a close knit industry is an understatement. Most of my generation grew up together in the business, and generations coming after me are doing the same. So we are all great friends in this community. When one our friends needs help, we pitch in. And we reach out to others because we know they will pitch in as well. Whether it is through manual labor, or opening up hearts and checkbooks, we can count on each other. We know that.
We are still touched when the doors just don’t open, they fly open, and the hearts come pouring out of everyone’s chest and the checks, both big and small which add up to unbelievable numbers. We come together and show up because we care. And the fellowship is even more special because we have a common purpose doing a common good.
Giving feels really, really good when you can help someone you love, and in some cases, someone you don’t even know, but you know in your heart it’s important.
So next time someone reaches out to you to help a friend, think twice before you say no. It’s not the amount you give, but the fact that you do. Someday, it may be you in need, and every little bit helps. Trust me, I saw it add up!
