This past week my mom had a birthday. I won’t tell you her age, but it was a significant number. She works out 5 days a week and has quite a large group of friends that work out with her. We had a birthday party, which consisted of High Afternoon Tea, for her and 20 of her friends at a little Tea Cafe in Dallas. As I watched the group chat and interact with each other, I wish I had asked each one of them individually what they might have told their 50 year old selves. I did, however, gain some prospective just by spending the afternoon with them. Here is the knowledge I took away from this amazing group of women that we can all use!
- Age is just a number
- Good genes are nice, but happiness is better
- Keep good company
- Girlfriends are always there for you
- If you don’t move your body, your body won’t move
- Stretch often
- Work on balance (this group takes Yoga too!)
- Laugh often
- Dress to the 9’s whenever you feel the urge
- Never pass up dessert
- Live every day to the fullest, you never know when it’s gonna be your last!
