Why We Watch The Super Bowl

Super bowl Sunday, the most anticipated, sought after sporting event of the year.  An unofficial national holiday.  Why do we watch it?

I polled over 100 participants (and non participants) before and during the game, and I observed others at a party during the game.  A LOT of people at the party didn’t know there was a game going on, no seriously!

Here are the Top 10 reasons why we watch (and don’t watch) the super bowl.

#10.  I don’t watch it.  I’m kinda tired of all the social politics and political correctness that surrounds the game in general.  It takes away from whatever purity was left in the sport;

#9.   Fun, family and fellowship;

#8.   Is there a football game on today?

#7.   To watch the Patriot’s (hopefully) loose.  It’s not that I don’t like the Pat’s, I’m just tired of them winning;

#6.   I like to take part; some of the greatest plays come during the super bowl and it’s not the same to see it afterwards;

#5.   Commercials, half time entertainment and conversation with co-workers the next day;

#4.   It’s THE event;

#3.   Watching the best of the best;

#2.  The food;

and the #1 reason we watch the super bowl

IT’S FOOTBALL!!!!

Here’s to talking about yet another Pat’s win at the water cooler!

Make it a great day!
