There’s something about back-to-school season that feels like a reset. New schedules. New routines. New goals. And, of course, that unmistakable feeling that summer went by much too quickly!
But maybe there’s a lesson in this season for all of us. Kids head back to school knowing they won’t have all the answers on day one. They’re expected to learn, ask questions, make mistakes, try again and keep growing. Somewhere along the way in our careers, we can forget that we’re allowed to do the same thing.
This week, maybe it’s time to go back to basics. Get curious again. Ask the question you’ve been hesitant to ask. Learn something new. Reconnect with someone who can teach you something. And give yourself permission not to have every answer.
The best leaders never really graduate from being students.
So as the backpacks come out and the school buses start rolling again, ask yourself: What do I want to learn this year?
Have a great week — and keep learning!
