In our world of always multitasking, I learned in my many years of running companies that people want your time. And even though your time is precious, don’t forget their time is too. But more importantly, when people want to speak to you, put everything else away and give them your undivided attention. Make them your single point of focus. Avoid looking at your smartphone or checking emails on your computer, don’t answer your phone and don’t find yourself flipping through papers on your desk. As the leader of an organization, your followers need to know you care, and what they say is important.
Show them that in your actions and they will respect you for giving them the time of the day!
