At some point in our careers, most of us have felt the need to prove ourselves. Prove that we belong in the room. Prove that we can handle the bigger job. Prove that we’re smart enough, experienced enough, tough enough—or that we can somehow do it all. And for a while, that drive can serve us well. It pushes us to work harder, take risks, and earn opportunities. But there comes a point when constantly proving yourself becomes exhausting. You’ve earned the seat. You’ve built the experience. You’ve done the work. Maybe it’s time to stop proving and start trusting.
So, as you begin this week, ask yourself: What am I still trying to prove—and to whom? There’s a difference between continuing to grow and constantly needing to validate your worth. Leadership isn’t about walking into every room thinking, “Let me show you why I belong here.” It’s walking in knowing you belong—and then focusing your energy on what you can contribute while you’re there. Stop proving. Start leading.
Have a great week—and may today’s message give you a little advantage.
